To add a new aspect you need to do the following:
Click ‘Administration’ > ‘Teaching and Learning’ > ‘Aspects and Descriptors’. Click ‘Create New’. Fill out the details, including which form types you’d like to link the aspect to, then click ‘Create’.
Once you’ve created the new aspect you can attach a bank of evidence to it by clicking ‘View Descriptors’ next to that aspect in the table. First click ‘View Aspect Tabs and Descriptor Columns’ then click ‘Create New Aspect Tab’. Aspect tabs allow you to split your descriptors into different sections, for example descriptors for teachers and learners. Even if you do not wish to split your descriptors, you will still need to create an aspect tab to store your descriptors under.
Once you’ve created your aspect tab, the next step is to create the columns that sit under that tab. These allow you to split your descriptors further, for example into columns for ‘Outstanding’, ‘Good’, etc. Again, even if you do not wish to split your descriptors this way, you will still need to create at least one descriptor column for your descriptors to sit under. Click ‘Edit’ next to your newly created aspect tab and then on the page that follows click ‘Create New Descriptor Column’. Repeat this process until you have created all the columns you need for that aspect tab.
After aspect tabs and descriptor columns have been created, you can then start adding descriptors themselves. If you haven’t already done so, click ‘Back to Aspect Tabs’ and then ‘Back to Descriptors’ and then click ‘Create New Descriptor’. Add the details and save and then repeat until all your descriptors have been added.
To delete an aspect you need to do the following:
Click ‘Administration’ > ‘Teaching and Learning’ > ‘Aspects and Descriptors’. Click ‘Delete’ next to your chosen aspect.
Note: When you delete an aspect it will become disabled rather than removed entirely. This is a built-in safety feature to prevent accidental loss of form data. To view aspects that have been disabled, scroll to the top of the table and click ‘Show Deleted’.
